Most guests arrive at Bangsal Port from Bali or the Gili Islands, though some might fly into Lombok Airport. No matter how you get here, we’ll take care of your transport to our homestay in Senaru. When you arrive, you’ll be warmly greeted and treated with a welcome drink (Coffee or Tea). Enjoy the stunning views from our outdoor dining area, and keep an eye out for the playful monkeys nearby. If you’re in the mood for a bit of adventure, you can take a relaxed 20-minute walk to the beautiful Tiu Kelep Waterfall, which is just a short trail away from our homestay.
At 8:00 AM, begin your journey through a lush tropical forest teeming with diverse flora, vibrant birdlife, and an array of colorful butterflies.
By 11:00 AM, pause at Post 2, Montong Satas Shelter (1,500 m), for a refreshing break. Enjoy fresh fruits and beverages provided by your guide and porter, while taking in the serene surroundings.
Following the break, resume trekking uphill for approximately two hours to reach Post 3, Mondokan Lolak (2,000 m), where you’ll stop for a well-deserved lunch break.
At 2:00 PM, continue the climb for another two hours to arrive at the breathtaking Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m).
Set up camp and spend the night here, immersed in the incredible scenery. The Senaru Crater Rim offers unforgettable views, including a stunning sunset over Mount Agung in Bali and wisps of smoke rising from the newly formed volcano near the lake.
At 3:30 AM, start the day with a light breakfast before embarking on a two-hour trek to the Sangkareang Rinjani Second Summit (3,126 m).
From the summit, marvel at the stunning panoramic views of Lombok Island, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake, all bathed in the golden hues of a breathtaking sunrise.
After descending back to the campsite, enjoy a hearty breakfast and take some time to rest before beginning the journey down to Senaru Village.
The descent takes you through lush rainforest, where, with a bit of luck, you might spot the elusive black monkeys in their natural habitat. The trek takes approximately five hours, with a stop for lunch along the way.
Finally, arrive at Senaru Village (601 m), where you can pack your belongings and prepare for your onward journey to your next destination in mainland Lombok.
